Magic: The Gathering Rarities

Redemption Program

Index | Images

The Redemption Program is WotC's way of appeasing players who receive certain misprinted cards. This program has only been invoked twice: once for the Japanese Mirage Crystal Vein, and for the Spanish Mercadian Masques Eye of Ramos. Players could send in the misprinted card and receive corrected versions. For the Crystal Vein, players also received a special promo card for their troubles.

The other set of cards in this section are special commemorative cards that were issued in July 2002 for the sixth anniversary of Magic the Gathering's introduction in Japan. These are five cards from the Ice Age block (the first expansion printed in Japanese was Mirage). They were distributed by Hobby Japan via a mail-in coupon until 30 September 2002.
