Alternate art cards are distributed through the normal channels of  booster packs and tournament decks, but have differing artwork from the "standard" art. Alternate art cards have been part of Magic since Alpha, but the cards on this page are of a different nature—they're not in the usual sequence like the various basic lands, Mishra's Factories, and so on.

Planeshift included special, alternate-art foils of three of the main characters from the Weatherlight saga—Ertai, Tahngarth, and the ship itself. These are extra rare, and can be identified by a star next to the card number.
